Parade, Music and Fun in the Park, Evening Concert, and Fireworks Show

** NOTE: Parade begins at Avenue J. and Broadway Ave.  The parade will travel east down Broadway and will end at MLK Jr. Blvd and Broadway.  Due to the extending of the parade route, attendees will now be allowed additional parking and viewing options downtown.  For those wanting to view the parade in Mackenzie Park, all shuttles from the South Plains Fairgrounds will stop around 9:30 am to ensure all loaded passengers are dropped off down at Mackenzie Park. Free Parking lot located off Canyon Lakes Drive between Broadway and 19th

  • Head north on I-27 N

  • Take exit 4 toward US-82/Crosbyton/4th Street

  • Continue onto Interstate 27 Service Road N.

  • Turn right onto US-82 Frontage Road

  • Turn right onto Avenue A

  • $5 Paid Parking will be on the left at any entry gate open

  • Enter Free Parking Lot

Coming from West Lubbock on Marsh Sharp Freeway

  • Head east on US-82 E

  • Turn right onto M.L.K. Jr. Blvd (0.9 mi)

  • Turn right onto Idalou Rd./East 19th Street

  • Turn right at the 2nd cross street onto Canyon Lake Dr. (0.4 mi)

  • Enter CAPROCK CARDIOVASCULAR CENTER Free Parking

Coming From South Lubbock on M.L.K. Jr. Blvd

  • Head north on M.L.K. Jr. Blvd

  • Turn left onto Idalou Rd./East 19th Street

  • Turn right at the 2nd cross street onto Canyon Lake Dr. (0.4 mi)

  • Enter CAPROCK CARDIOVASCULAR CENTER Free Parking

Coming from West Lubbock on Marsha Sharp Freeway

  • Head east on US-82 E/Marsha Sharp Fwy

  • Take the exit towards Interstate 27/US-87/Amarillo/Tahoka (0.2 mi)

  • Merge onto US-82 Frontage Road – stay straight on Frontage Road (0.3 mi)

  • Turn right onto Avenue A

  • $5 Paid Parking will be on the left at any entry gate open

Coming From South Lubbock on M.L.K. Jr. Blvd

  • Head north on M.L.K. Jr. Blvd toward E 19th Street

  • Turn left onto Idalou Road/East 19th Street (0.4 mi)

  • Continue onto East 19th Street (0.7 mi)

  • Turn right onto Avenue A – continue past E. Broadway Ave. (0.7 mi) *NOTE – once the parade has started Ave. A and E. Broadway Ave. will close to thru traffic – expect traffic delays or use alternative route using M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. to Parkway Drive to US-82 Frontage Road W to US-82 Frontage Road E to Ave. A.
